My neighbor has this sitting in his yard. Apparently the owners live in California. He jokingly asked me if I had room on my property for it
So whats the story with these boats?
Dan asked me to take a picture of it.

Jeez, what a waste. I can picture that out on the lake on a fine day with brightwork glistening...
More, more, more. Is there a name on it? Is it a Blanchard or a Lake Union? (I don't know how to tell the difference). Is it hogged? Is it structurally viable? Any running gear in it?
All the pix I can find of both Blanchards and Lake Unions have vertical stems. Why doesn't this one?
I can take more pictures when I get back next week.

Ron is quite correct in questioning this boat's provinance....not that it's a bad one, just that I don't think this is a LUDDCO build. And neither is it a Blanchard, which if anything, are more standardized designs. Research will be required! This kind of raised deck design was very popular in the mid to late twenties, and there were a lot of builders.
That hull on that boat looks a lot like mine, which was built by Nunes Brothers in Sausalito. Moy bow is plumb though. I agree with Lew that she isn't a Lake Union or Blanchard. She looks a lot like the Geary 32 which is what I have. That design was built from BC to California.

Send it over to us, Tim. We'll fix her up so you don't have to look at that poor boat deteriorating away across from you. That kind of boat's really our stock in trade.
P.S. Bring your checkbook--I'm afraid you'll have to leave that with us, too.
This weekend is the Bell Street Harbor Rendezvous. Plenty of raised deck boats will be there, including good examples of Ludds and Blanchards. Nunes Bros were great builders, and who can beat a Geary design? If you're in town, come by and see the differences for yourself! Tortuga looks great! Bravo!
I would love to be able to be there. I could visit my family too. Unfortunately a 6,000 mile round trip isn't in the cards for the weekend.
I grew up on the south sound and lived in Seattle back in the 70's, but now I live in Maine.
I'll put up some pictures, Todd. Took some today and will get more tomorrow.
Please post pix Lew. I am in Michigan right now enjoying some warm humid weather![]()
