I was looking around in my shop yesterday for something to make a faring compound with. I found half a jug of "Q" Cells and half a jug of Talc. Not enough of either to do what I want (which is to fair out the sides of the cabin on the weekender) but combined should be enough.

Reckon these two combined will make a good sandable fairing compound?

Mix up a small batch and try it.

    Chad-

I asume you have sanded talc?

It is not easy to sand. Forget that idea - spring for some type of epoxy compatible microballoons. You will have enough sanding to do without ceating sanding night mares for your self.

No I have never sanded talc. I had tried it as thickner and wasn't as happy with is as I was wood flour. I was wanting to try and stretch my "Q" cells as far as I could.

I'll re-think. I would like to get this done without having to wait for another order to come in.

Talc soaks up water, even pulls it out of the air. It's not generally too good for in-water applications.
