Default One of my favorite moments

Shaping and setting up thwart knees, one of those nice moments when a bunch more pretty curves come into play. New build Hvalsoe 16. The trunk, thwarts, and knees have come back out for prefinishing. http://www.hvalsoe-boats.com/
What are some of your favorite moments?

Admiring the glow on the amber varnished 50yr old Phillippine mahogany in my cabin in dim light while having a cup of coffee at night.

A cold beer with friends at the end of a long day of boating.

When my joinerwork has a moment of clarity, and things finally fit the way they are supposed to fit. Similar feeling when writing something. It's just another kind of joinerwork.

Eric, beautiful work on a very impressive looking design. I'm at about that point too on my glued ply Penobscot 14 and agree that that stage is a nice one in the build. Since my work quite is shoddy compared to yours I had to beautiful my photo with a grandaughter princess, Bruce

(I promised a rec room remodel when the build is done)

A paintjob on my boat can take four weeks for one man to accomplish, even when she's in pretty good shape and just needs to be refaired, small dimlkes filled, and prepped for paint. Even the bottom cleaning and painting takes a couple of days. So when the Travel Lift pulls up and the job's done with no holidays or curtains, it's a mighty fine feeling. Nothing in my routine maintenance is quite so daunting as a paint job.

Back in the water with a shiny new coat that's good for four or five years is a great feeling.

I'm sensing one pattern here among boatwrights, and another pattern among amateurs.
