Little Jim was re furbished/restored recently. 1934 Logan, 42 ft.
there's a nifty little cooker in the cupboard to stbd.
Funny thing was I was asked for the use of three them , they appeared in our national boating magazine this month.![]()

You had Jim but this is a very good place to add them as well, any chance of a photo of how your cooker is fitted?

She ain't mine, I just clicked the instamatic. No I didn't take any of the cooker pulled out unfortunately, its that top cupboard, doors open and the lower rail of the carcase is the 'drawer front'... the whole thing slides out on brass tracks.
Thanks John, it's just what I'm wanting to do on my H28 but haven't yet fully worked out how I want to do it. The brass rails look like a heck of an improvement on what I was thinking though.
I have to wonder why, after doing such a nice job, they've left the compass and instrument wiring hanging like that.

I'm sure its on the to do list. The rig wasn't even in at that stage.... maybe there's other wiring etc to be dealt with too.

Oh, envy! Oh, woe! Wailing! Moaning! Weeping! Gnashing of teeth! Alas, I remain, as yet, boatless. Although I have not yet reached the rending of garments phase. This pictures, and those from the earlier thread, might push me there.
I am right now watching the Mythbusters gang build a sailboat out of duct tape. Hmmm...
This is what I was looking for - overdue for a bump peep's.........more interiors please??
And a question: how do you find the right balance between brightwork and paintwork inside? Is there something like an ideal ratio??

How'd I miss this thread? I agree we need more interior shots.
Here are a few. Bigger boat though (52 LOA, 39 LWL, 12.5 Beam)

The best part is the (hard to see) seats in the pilot house. With the large windows next to them, they are a great place to read and/or watch the storm roll by. We've spent many a happy hour there.
I appreciate the compliment. It was built by the original owners (2 brothers) in 1941. I particularly like the balance of teak & white (actually Seattle Gray in this case).

There are so many great (and horrible) interiors. I only want to comment on a specific case which may or may not have relevance for you.
In my 28' sailboat with fine ends and relatively narrow beam, I wanted leg room while sitting to navigate and cook near the companionway (I cannot stand). The original layout there gave standing room and lots of counter/desk space either side just fwd of the engine box......but nowhere to sit and face your work.......cabinets and counter tops all the way out to the hull. Bins outboard with lids through the countertop were the nod toward using all that counter and storage space outboard which you can not comfortably get to.
Since I wanted leg room under the workspaces, port and stb, I thought I'd be giving up all that storage space where my legs need to be now. But now that it is roughed-in, I find that I have the needed leg room but also may have better and more usable access and use of those outboard areas which were 'dead' areas before.
So, my personal limitations forced me toward a different configuration which I now imagine might be more generally useful in a boat of the approx dimensions of ours.
Here is my original drawing. It is now roughed in and used for 2 seasons very nearly as drawn. We are lowering the counters/nav desk top 1-inch. No photos yet, sorry.
My needs are particular, but this might be generally useful:

Besides lowering the work surfaces we are adding a deep, small, plumbed (salt and fresh) sink on the aft end of the galley counter. The seawater here is about 50-degrees F, which keep the bilge cool enough for fresh food and cool beverages....so we don't need an ice box in the galley (dry bilge).

From Zinnia:
I really like that little Colin Frake stove Greg , just the right size for Australia .
Perfect is the enemy of good.
Similar parameters... 31' loa, 8' beam, 5' draft. Not much volume, but all the essentials are there.
Not the location I would have chosen for the galley sink (under the companionway ladder) but wifey prefer's it that way.
V-berth fwd with enclosed head. The head door isolates the bow for privacy.
Compact but comfy for coastal cruising, especially if you're under 6' tall.

ZINNIA has been for sale on YachtWorld for some time. Beautiful boat, composite, gaff-rigged. No head though. Does she belong to a forum member?
Here are some of Acacia, 32' x 10'6" x 6'4" headroom:
