On a wooden hull? NEITHER. What you want to do is run a few turns of caulking cotton wicking around the base of the threads and bed it in Dolphinite. Your poly-goops won't stick nearly as soundly over time (in places) and (in other places) may well prove impossible to remove come the time when you'll have to. Poly-goops don't go well with wood, no matter how you cut it. Use plastic goops for plastic. Use oil based goop for wood. BTW, without the cotton, expect problems whatever bedding compound you use.
Bob, I neglected to mention this is a fiberglass hull with a Lloyds certificate.

Tut tut, grasshopper.
The way to wisdom begins with toleration
and embraces contradiction.
And glass or not, I'd lay on a couple of turns of cotton, like I said.

Cotton should be soaked in Boiled or Polymerized Linseed Oil.
