Any body know what the 15" level marked on the stem of the Shellback lofting is?

Clint, don't have my plans at hand but it sounds like the sheer line. If someone else doesn't know then I can dig out the plans and have a look. You can also cross reference the line to the detailed construction plan , that might tell you what you need to know.

I built the Shellback a few years ago. Checked my plans and it looks like the 15" mark is where you set the stem in/on the strongback stem brace. Right above the mold, there is a change from a smooth radius to a straight section of the stem. From that point, down to the top of the strongback is 15" (by scale). Hope this helps. Have fun building the shellback, its a nice boat.

Hey Clint, I checked my plans, if you look at the sheet that details the ladder frame assembly it shows the 15" mark on the stem at the top of the stem brace.
