Default 1960 18' Teak Wood Cruiser Kinley Engineering

We just got this solid teak wood boat. We have NO info on the value, restoration potential, history of the Kinley Shipyards in Hong Kong who built her. Any help would be appreciated!

Give her a good wash job and see what you've got left, If she is real teak your problems are probally not that bad. The old cabin cruisers are not in much demand anymore for some reason, I had a 57 32ft Chris Craft that I loved, if you are building her for yourself, you are ahead of the game if the hull is teak, if your trying to turn a dollar, don.t expect a lot of money out of an old cabin cruiser. Last ditch effort which works here in Florida, drop down one plank from the rub rail and cut off the top, strip out the cabin and gut her down to the bare hull and make an open fisherman out of her, know two boatbuilders who buy old Sea Ray cabin cruisers, and strip them down to bare hulls and build them bach up to open fisherman boats.
Personally I would not give a nickel for an open fisherman, have too many fond memorys of waking up on Sunday morning swinging on a hook in my cabin cruiser, with a nice lady, the smell of an omlet in the making in a cast iron skillet, coffee in the pot. life never got any better than that, so I can tell you if you want to rebuild her, well life just don't no better than a nice cabin cruiser on Sunday Morning swing on a hook.

Have you seen what teak boats sell for in Hong Kong?

I can believe you're having trouble finding history on this boat.

    My search turned up this........

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.
