Default Thank you Allan for the saw dust.

Thank you so much for helping me out and sending me a package in the mail full of fine sawdust. I made a glue & dust mixture on Wednesday using gorilla glue and "wow" did it expand perfectly. I was trying to fill a deep crack and the expansion worked like foam. I just kept knifeing off the outside edge to keep the sanding to a minimum

    Thank you again

Glad the shipment arrived safely. I was somewhat concerned that the packaging might leak some of the contents. I was imagining the entire USPS shutting down over some mysterious powder being found at some USPS facility.

I was envisioning the same thing when the original request thread was posted......

Hate to bring it up not, but all the bubbles left by that expanding Gorilla glue may tend to suck up and hold water. In my experience wood flour is used with yellow glues or epoxy.

Hope you don't have a problem with water retention.

Yes it was poor choice of adhesive but that "idea / action " of the saw dust shipping / hands across the sea ( OK border ) was nice.

Gorilla glue has had some bad press of late , I personally would not use it on a boat.

I have used it on deck railing joints , and other outside glue ups , but I really don't have any idea how it's held up over time. No call backs about it , so maybe it's been OK.

It's reported to have "poor" gap filling properties. Maybe the saw dust helped with that.

I've had mixed experiences with Gorilla Glue. For sticking things in place that will be mechanically joined or chemically edged bonded with something else later, It ain't bad. For being the primary bonding agent between anything under load...not so good.

As with Paul, we'll see how it holds up over time.
