I hope you've saved one of each of them there beers (Rasberry and Nut brown) to make a "peanut butter and jelly" as they call it at Garrison brewery. Mix them together and it truly does taste like a PB+J sandwich. Problem is you're commited to drinking two of them at once!

eeeeww! Not sure I'd much like that... (the PB&J part, not the two beers part...)

I don't see the problem, do you honestly believe there are people out there who drink less than two beers?

Peter hurry back, we're getting out of hand here!
Sailor is mixing anything potable into these horrible Dagwood type drinks, Barnacle Grim is singing sexually explicit 18'th century songs and I am slowly going native.
I'm not sure what Congeniac is up to, but I don't like the sound of that snigger...

To begin, let's be perfectly clear: I do not save beer. I may keep it in the cooler or store it in my belly very briefly but I do not save beer. As to the the second part of your post.....I hope you take this the right way Daniel.....I think it may be about time you find yourself a new group of drinking buddies! I mean, who the hell came up with that gem of a recipe discovery and why!?! Worst still, you've apparently tasted it too! My God man!! How deep and down in the dumps does one have to actually travel to ever, and I mean a lifetime here, absolutely ever, want to taste PB&J while sucking on a brewski ?!?! Ever since reading this recipe for disaster, I've been having me a bad case of the dry heaves! One thing is certain, if the day ever arrives where I find myself longing for a PB&J beer I hope there is an ambulance near by to either bring me back to the asylum or to the hospital as I may be pregnant!

But in closing and to at least end on a bright note, two beers has never been a problem......it's keeping it to no more than two beers which seperates the men from the fools and you know where I stand on that !

    Cheers!

    Sailor,

Pay no attention to that ol' stick-in-the-mud. Beer is a delightful quaff in lots of various forms. But... keep something in mind... just between the two of us. He's Canadian! They are not known for their experimentation in matters of the palate. I mean... after all, how often do you hear or read the term "fine Canadian cuisine"? I mean REALLY? This, after all, is a man who... I don't know if he's admitted this in public or not, but it's time to set the record straight... he drinks... Port!!!!

Personally, I think your PB&J beerwich sounds quite interesting. But then our dear Peter would probably wince at my summertime beverage as well. One half spicy V-8 (or Clamato... or a mix of the two) and 1/2 frosty pilsner or pale ale.

Absolutely true, you never ever buy beer, you just rent it briefly before returning it at the point of sale (one way or the other...)

You ease my worried mind Peter, I had uncomfortable visions of you and Simon going on a PB-J beer bash and proclaiming this to be the ambrosia of all true wood butchers and a mandatory diet for the Lemmingwand congregation

While I appreciate the backup, I'm also Canadian. Yes I like to experiment in matters of the palate AND I LOVE port. I guess his experimentation is a bit more vanilla than mine.

Do you call that V-8/Clamato beer drink a red-eye?
    I've only seen two guys,commercial fishermen,drinking them.
    Strong stomachs on those guys.

Red eye would work. I simply call it beermato... which I made up because I couldn't bring myself to regularly say (right out loud) what the fellow I learned it from calls it.

Jeez guys, I take a couple of days off to register for a big bike ride (yeah, two days of hitting the refresh key for 4 hours at a crack.. because some IT weenie couldn't make a system to register 7K people in 2 days...) and whammo! you are all drunk on PB&J beer and singing bawdy pirate songs about pukin' in da bilgeees... Yikes!! What is this forum coming to.. ??

Beer and tomato juice? Double eeeeeew! They make this stuff so you can drink it right out of the bottle (my wife tells me "it comes in a glass"), and now we're putting all sorts of nasty other stuff in it.. Maybe a little West 406 to add some body? yum!

Snickering in the background...(you crack me up..!!)

Indeed you did Rick, but I'm more than willing to allow for the fact that not all wood butchers drink beer. To each his own vice and poison! It's the fun you have that counts and not what ya drink or toke!

Days are getting longer by the minute Rick.....exciting times looming over the horizon for you in your Blue Lagoon Bowshed!!

I wasn't sure if I should go fetch a coffee, a cigar or some popcorn for this "epic proportions" event you spoke of . I'm relieved to have settled on a glass of Grand Marnier. Cheers dear Rydren for being part of the craziness which has oddly brought this foolish thread so far along. I am most surprised it ever made it so far considering the many far more interesting threads on this forum.

As the "owner" of the 150,000th post, ya wanna cap?

    Cheers!

Is this why you have taken time off, the boat is getting more and more dangerously close to being finished and needs constant supervision?
Can we rely on a steady information flow from the bowshed aka St Simons Asylum for the Woodbutchering Insane?

    Peter,
I would also like to offer my congratulations on 150,000+ views. This is by far the most entertaining thread to follow on the forum both because of the construction itself and the commentary from the various members. May the construction process stay strong, the photos and comments keep coming, and may you have an equally cool thread about your adventures aboard the finished vessel. By the way when are we all coming up for the inaugural grand dock-side gala event? Black tie I assume?

    All the best,
    - Cam

Na, the boat is just the boat. The time off is due to my gf entering the hospital this coming week for surgery.I plan on being there 24/7 for the most important person in my life.Simon will just have to wing it on his own for a spell.

I'll still try to get the rest of the latest door pictures up when and if time presents itself.

    Cheers!

    Peter.

Thank you for your kind words Cam and for following this craziness which this thread represents! The launch date is, of course, a complete mystery to me at the moment but I will post when I have a hard fixed date. Some time early summer, perhaps?

Anyone wishing to join the launching "event" is certainly welcome and please, come dressed for the weather and remember this is a "yard" not a club, thus little in the way of creature comforts for the fairer sex nor for anyone more accustomned to manicured lawns and waiters hovering nearby in the shade. Black ties also welcomed if that happens to be the name of a mixed drink

    Cheers!

Congrats on the milestone Peter. Is that a record on this forum? maybe they should be sending you a hat?
I am all the way over here in Vancouver but I would love an excuse to come out that way. I havent been out there for almost a decade now. But if I cant be there I would surely like to send a bottle of port to celebrate with or to christen with. So keep up the great work.
    Any pics of finished doors?
