I spent the weekend in the attic building some load speaders. The plan is to turn her this coming weekend.

"I spent the weekend in the attic building some load speaders."

... or, you could just invite over about a dozen of your closest friends...

Art I could not find enough volunteers to lift her without a little beer thrown into the deal. I decided to take my chances with the ceiling joists rather than a bunch of 40 year old backs slugging down Buds!

The paint came from Kriby. Standard red bottom and yellow bootstripe. The blue falls between Kirby's medium and dark blue. Actually, what I decided is that I liked the color of the blue on a Wendy's (of fast food fame)drink cup. So I cut up the cup and sent it to George at Kirby's. He matched it and labeled the can 'Wendy's Blue'.

Darryl, the Haven is a Joel White designed center board version of the Herreshoff 12 1/2 Footer daysailer. It is a sloop with an overall length of 16 feet. Beam is about 6 feet. It is an open boat, this one is plank on frame. What you see in the picture is about 600 hours (over 14 months) of work. It will take me about 30 months to complete her (I hope).
