    Re: New wood mast

I had a mast made about 2 yrears ago by Ashley James of Classic yacht services in British Columbia. There were quite a few things I was not happy about. The mast came damaged for one, there were way too many dutchman, the Scarfs were pointing up instead of down, the glue joints are failing, the spreaders have screws that are not corrosion resistant, the sheave would not turn freely, and the foot was angled wrong. Anyway, I'm expecting alot of trouble in the future with backward scarfs and need to accommodate any water getting into the mast. I do not think that Classic yacht services is going to "MAN UP" for what they did so I'll have to live with it for now. I just hope it does not fail and kill someone. Any advice would be helpful. Some Advice to all: DO NOT USE CLASSIC YACHT SERVICES.
