    Default That !@#$&***!! Hitch!

    Now, I've asked this before--at least once--and I can't find the link I know {okay, I'm sure} I saved....

This is a hitch used to attach a line to a sail. It consists of a loop and a short, knotted line worked into the end of a sheet, whatever. The loop is passed through the clew and the knot through the loop.

In the {dark} crevices of my mind, it's called a Dutch...whatever...or not....

    Dagnabit....

Thorne, I LOVE your hat! Yeah, that's it! The B&W pic in the thread calls it a 'Dutchman's method' of attaching a jib sheet...see? I was close....
    Thanks!

    How about THIS hat?

    Or THIS one?

    (don't get me started)

I also remembered the thread as it was referenced for the knot I used to tie in a thimble for my jib outhaul on the bowsprit.
