    It averages 5.3 m/s year around here. That's about 10.3 knots or 11.8 mph, just at the threshold for a useful wind generator, but they are too tall for local height ordinances.

    That map is notoriously inacurate, and ignores local geographic anomolies.
    It's for very broad generalisations only.
