There is a Crosby catboat (ca. 1922) here on Block Island that
is coming to the end of its life -- unless somebody grabs it
to rebuild. It's been around here for decades and it needs
work -- lots of work -- transom, some planks, deck work
and who knows what else. But the shape still looks fair and if somebody really wanted to restore a Crosby, it could probably
be done. It's not mine, but I can give you the phone number of
the owner, who is in Florida. And if nothing is done about this
boat in the next couple of days, it may well end up as landfill.
