Smile The Girl Likes Copper Too

As if however many pounds of bronze thru-hulls and assorted hardware last week wasn't enough, this week she took a liking to copper

If you look closely, you can see the concrete floor through the bottom of the old drip pan

I just took the old one to a local roofing company that does a lot of fancy copper trim and gutters and SHAZAM!

    (Well, Shazam and $123... )

Shouldn't you have taken it to a "marine" shop and paid $600.00

Nice! The oilzorb pads will look (and do) much better in that than the bilge.

I guess this means you can sell the one on the left as marine "antiqued" for $600!

123 bucks sounds quite fair... I'll expect you to keep that new pan as shiny as it is now...

Given the price I saw for copper flashing the other day. The Guys that made that for you were very kind. $15 per pound.

Peter - I thought about clear-coating it , but that's a little over the top. Even for me.

ssor - agreed. It was one of those things that had to be done and they pretty much could have named their price. But what was even better was they were really nice and not patronizing. Some times I get this Oh the little lady wants something for her little boat isn't that cute attitude.

The bad news is the only other copper item I need is a dust bin for under the salon floorboard.

$123 sounds like a great price. Now you can put the old one on e**y and sell it as "original restorable"... A dust bin under the salon? Wow, sailboats are more different than I thought. Is this a normal sailboat item?
