    Default Building Sao

    Hello all,
Well, I've gone and done it. I've finally begun my Atkin "Inga", which I will christen "Sao". I've put some photos and comments on my website at: http://home.earthlink.net/~kalana/id1.html . Thanks for all your help in getting me to this point.

Ok ,first in the new WB and now here - SAO - how do you pronounce it?
I'd have supposed like a mama pig - SOW - not a particularly attractive name for a boat so that seems unlikely.

Sao is pronounced say o in Aus, and is the name of a dry biscuit.

Please post often to let us keep up with your progress.

    Default Not a pig

Sao is pronounced say o. In Greek mythology, she's the Greek nereid (sea nymph) of safe passages.

Well, I stood the rest of the molds, and began the keel this week. Today, I'm going to clean up the shop.

How much do you think she will displace when done?

    Default Displacement

The designer's specs list her displacement as 12,200 lbs. The ballast keel is 5,700 plus 300 internal ballast.

    Keep it up.

    Hello all,
Since I can't work on the boat right now, I've redone the website and added photos. There's a new address: http://home.earthlink.net/~kalana/bu...sao/index.html
