    Default Trailer Sailer 24

Does anyone know if the Karl Stambaugh Trailer Sailer 24 design has ever been built? The Trailer Sailer was in the March/April 2002 WoodenBoat.

    Karl,
Thanks for the reply, but the cmd web site did not have a picture of the Trailer Sailer that I could find. I could be missing something. Let me know if you still find the picture there.

Couldn't find a picture. Perhaps someone was thinking of the Catbird 24.

I love the smell of fresh cut plywood in the morning.

We build the 24 as 21 feet, in foam core..with lifting roof, and changed the sails in rolling up..75f74960-e9e4-4c98-9a89-9d666ae1b2d9.jpg

Looks great. I've long admired this design. Are your spars carbon fiber?

I have often pondered that design as one that makes a lot of sense, leeboards be damned. Looks great ! Did you modify that on your own or with the designers help? Also wondering if you have actual sitting up headroom below or do you need to lift the roof for that? And when it is lifted what is the clearance to the cabin sole ? We need more pictures and more information please !

I really admire this design. Visually it holds together. It slightly reminds me of Herreshoff's 21 ft Cat Yawl.....This is "Descant" built by my Father.

I like the leeboards....(of course) they keep the cabin clear and are not...in my experience a problem while sailing.

I also like the use of 'fat or square head sails' sort of an evolution of Herreshoff's short gaffs
    Congratulations
