one functioning bronze porthole?

This may sound like an odd ball request but I'll give it a go anyway,
I am in need of one functioning round bronze porthole no larger then 11 inches nor any smaller then 6 inches in diameter(inside diameter,that is).
Perhaps one of you may have just such an item stowed away in the barn/cellar/garage or under your bed and now find yourself no longer needing such a portlight since you've bought a different boat,chose to build a different boat,no longer want to build a boat etc....

In any case, it does not have to be new,have a glass in it or even the screen,as I can polish it,get a glass cut for it and build a screen for it. It just has to open smoothly and no longer be of any use to you.

It will be used to shed some light and air in the head compartment on board a 31' Bolger estuary cruiser I am presently completing. Now that I think about it, an old used tarnished porthole would probably suit the period styling I am aiming for best.

I have gone a searching around the Montreal region but keep coming up with silly bar room porthole mirrors......out of copper! I am looking for the real thing.

And finally, while a freebee is every builders dream when it comes to bits and pieces, and I am not immune to the allure of that dream, I am willing to pay a fair price and shipping for same.

I won't be needing to install it much before another month,so there is lots of time to go rifling around the attic,barn,cellar etc etc...:-)

That would be really sweet but I must confess that your AIRLIE should keep her relevant parts together,being how she does have a heep more history then my as yet launched boat.Besides, with such a gracefull mistress, soon to be gliding once again through her element, you can never have too many original spare parts no?

However, having said that and trusting you to know what you're about regarding AIRLIE's needs, if you really,really,really have no need for the spare, then please let me know.

I have two bronze beauties, from an older boat, which might work. although smaller than you've specified.
The maximum outside flange dimension is 8". The glass is 4" (visible area). They open and close nicely. There's glass, but no screens. I priced them at $125.00 each and sold one. I'm using one as a photo frame in my den and I have two more. If you want them they're yours for $170.00 for the two of them, or $100 for one, (plus shipping). Thanks Tony but I already did the unthinkable of cutting a hole for a six incher but left enough backing stock to go as large as 11 inches if need be(one can never have too much light and air in the head).Thus a 4 incher is a wee too small.
