    Talking Happy Vernal Equinox

Today is the day. Happy spring to everyone. Time to come out of the bilge and get the boats ready for sailing etc.

Yup...building a new one! Noticed a 'funny angle' up at the top around Christmas, and upon further inspection saw a lot of rot. So, we've considered a bunch of options, and are getting ready to reround the mill squared tree and make a new one. A little overwhelming....but mostly exciting! Heck!! We had to buy new tools, so it can't be all bad! Anyway, mast comes out tomorrow, then we'll just be waiting for the new timber to be delivered (hopefully sooner rather than later).

No problem Jamie. It can go any where the wind takes it.

Ayup, think I'll run some whitewater for the first time this year on Saturday.
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

    Default Rivers

I've been eyein' the rivers for some time. As soon as the ice shelfs are significantly gone, I'm in.

This is always a cool site to look at during the equinox:

    http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java

Notice how the day/night borders are vertical instead of shaped like sine waves. Only happens during the spring and summer equinox, because of equal time of day and night (everywhere in the world). Hence the name.
