Morning all. A nice coffee with Bailys sounds good. Heading out to watch the Tall Ships do the re enactment of the War of 1812 in a while..that should be FUN.There are 4 here now. They are really amazing to look at. Most the kids coming up today and staying over for the fireworks tonight. Happy to say I walked 2 miles yesterday before the foot said "Uncle".Hope everyone is doing well.

Was that really Skipper that came through? Ya Chris I know it is supposed to be all day coffee, but some folks fill their thermos up before they leave.

It's 18 degrees, headed for 26 today. Fer us 'Mercans... that's 68, headed for 78. Same same, all week. Great day to be in the shop, but I really slept in today, and dawdled with some house chores... then some garden chores. Now I'm finally headed for the sawdust factory. I'm taking delivery of the next boat project today or tomorrow - a 60's vintage runabout that needs a smidgen of help. I also get to hand over the wedding present for friends and fellow Coots Greg (he posts abovedecks sometimes - including a thread about his Brockway Skiff build) and Sarah (she of the delightfully sweet eyes, and deliciously Reubenesque frame). I can't say what it is yet, in case he peeks in here... but I designed it especially for them.

BoT - even in these mild temps, a bit of hard work, and the resulting need to hydrate w/h2o, interferes with meeting the beer quota! Like Chris says... there's always AFTER work. Looking around at the end of the day, and realizing it's time to pour a delicious micro-brew is a very nice moment, eh? My friends homemade hard cider is also quite delicious and refreshing at such times.

Well it is way to hot to cook, so we have a cottage cheese, cucumber and tomato salad. If ya don't like that we have garden fresh salsa and homemade tortilla chips and a black bean and corn salad. Beer and Tequila optional. Oh and water.

We cooked and ate outside last night to celebrate the anniversary. Sweetie decided she didn't want to bother going out, and I was feeling quite tired, so went along readily. So I bbq'd some chicken breasts in a lime-ginger marinade, in foil, and some thighs stuffed with garlic and wrapped in bacon. Salad was simply cucumbers, beans, peas and basil - all fresh from the garden. Youngest son and sweetie's mom ate with us on the back deck. A very pleasant evening.
