But now I need to get out to the barn and take a look to see if the table top has self destructed, or if it has survived a night alone..... If I could get Aldo to go take a look, and come back to tell me if I should go out there, or just give up, I would, but he still looks so miserable, I don't have the heart to ask him......
    I shall return!

So While I wasn't doing anything important, like sleeping.... I restarted the wood stove..... Boy, will I be glad when March gets here, and we get some warm weather..... It's 49 freakin degrees!
Interesting. The baby had the same schedule this morning.

I'll gnaw on some coffee for a few minutes, see if I can't make it to noon with at least one eye open.

I shoulda sent Aldo out to the barn ahead of me.....
Aside from the obvious boo-boos that are just gonna have to be there until I make another other new top, the finish looks OK... Not "good", but OK considering that it's for me, and I don't really count. I'd never let this out the door to a paying customer with this finish on it, but I don't count..... But the real problem is/was...... I made the damned thing 1/4" too long. So it doesn't fit properly.... Which meant that I either had to cut an eighth of an inch off both ends, re radius the edge, and refinish the freshly radiused edge..... Or I could put 1/2" riser blocks between the base and the top..... So..... The damned thing is 1/2" taller than it should be, 1/4" longer than it should be, has a bad spot in the veneer, ugly finish, and it smells...... But it's there, it's relatively flat, and it should be relatively moisture resistant..... Should be......

I have given up on any standard, Everything I touch goes wrong. I redo it at least three times and then junk it.

Lefty I've got a 3/8" bar on the chain saw so if you can live with that thing being an 1/8 to short instead of a 1/4 too long I might be able to help. Might have to go with a rustic look on one side.

G'dafternoon, Curtismo, Bobberoo, Saltini, Leftissimus, Seaoznz.

Next week, maybe we should go vegan. It'd be a change, at least. I can live without meat for a while. No cheese— that'd be tough.

If you are ruled by symmetry, Leftmacher, both ends need to be cut and reshaped. Boat stuff tends to be bilaterally symmetrical, in plan view at least. It's probably some sort of virus.

Despite the frost, the spuds are coming back. Put in summer squash, zucchini, and melon yesterday, with a partial row cover, and they're looking okay despite the vicious wind. Also started a new generation of peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant for the greenhouse. The vine tomato plants I started from cuttings look really good. I'm going to try propagating a determinate tomato from cuttings. I really ought to read up on this stuff, but it's more fun to just give it a go.

The way the reservoirs are going down, it might soon be impossible to launch a boat around here. I had a struggle with the muck off the end of the ramp yesterday. I guess I can blow up a Pack Cat and carry it down to the water. This crazy weather stinks.

Drink? Saint Clair Sauv Blanc and a dozen Bluff oysters on ice. Crusty loaf and good butter on the side. I need to build up my blood for a nap.

This doctor visit did not go as well as I had hoped for. That is what I get for listening to other people. I shoulda bought Glens gas while he was willin to help me.

So what'd the doctor say Bobby?.....
And no, Chip..... I'm not cutting anything on that table top this week..... I'm gonna just have to hope that Plessner, and Ledger don't look too close.....

    YES!!!
You have my vote on that gentlemen.
But of course it's always a matter of choice.
it would mean no worms for a few days for Bobby, but I'm sure he's man enough to handle that challenge

A nice whisky would set me up just right. Feet up and a nice book to read for a few minutes while I see if any of you are about.

Hey Bobby- I'm on my H*ll PC, but was really nice with a breeze here. That crab looks good with butter. :One shot and I'm off. Busy=very. Cool your core, not your outside. Even in a tub .Heat exaustion moves fast to falling. Cool off with a Margirita? Making trip plans-boat repairs first.Cheers to you. Chill Bro...<3

Ha! You've got a nice wit, for a West Islander. So Bluff oysters it is. What about some bubbly? Lindauer? Deutz? Or do we want to spend some real money?

Sophie— I'd not trust Lefty to do the vegan menu, since he'd be sneaking in bits of raw liver under the guise of steamed beets, etc. So p'raps you ought to do a menu or two. I'd like to know how to make a decent vegan eggplant parmesan. What serves in lieu of the parmesan?
