Yesterday after the funeral, we were talkin about what to do with our remains. I told them I was donating my body to science. The Tequila delivery girl got a good laugh out of that one. She said what the hell will they do with it. I told her they will hang it up on the wall and point out all the things not to do if you want to live a long time. She said I'll drink to that.![]()

I figured I'd donate my body to a good and worthy charity, and they could auction it off to the highest bidder..... Maybe Some wooden boat school, or some such......

You can trust your car, to the man who wears a star. So Lefty where can I find a Texaco man. No such animal in Okieland.

Grilled Lizard? Never et lizard before, but I"ll give it a go. (If it tastes like chicken, why bother?) With a dewy glass of St. Clair Sauv Blanc from the Godzone.
My potato plants froze last night. 29°F on the bloody summer solstice. And today in the 80s. What an infernal climate we have here. Did some electrical work on the research cat. Painted the motor mount for the skiff. I'll put it together tomorrow.
We're having a batty old neighbour over for dinner. She and I have no religion and the same politics, and she still manages to start an argument. But I resolve not to be disagreeable— wish me luck.

A gin would be good. Just the one though, the Sun is shining again today and I want to get out in it.
Got to do a quick trip into town, pick up some furniture that SWIMPAL bought yesterday.
It's a dining table, matches the coffee table we have. That's how to do things, right?

There's Texaco stations all over around here.... I used to only buy gas at Texaco because the price was lower, and it just seemed to last longer.... Then I lost the Texaco card, and had to use Chevron for a bit....... That was when I was out in NoCal with a diesel wagon.... I think that there are 4 Chevron stations in all of NoCal.... Luckilly, one was in Ft, Bragg, One was in Willits, One was in Healdsburg, and the other was way down by Marin.... Of course that car got 55mpg loaded to the floorboards with the springs rolly things.....turning into

When it comes to Irish music, The Pogues are low, the Chieftains are high, and the Corrs are dead center.
A Fleetwood Mac cover:
Ya know Chip I must confess I don't quite get the high and low of Great Britain, I mean my wifes's ancestors arrived in Nova Scotia as dirt poor near dead 'high land Scotts' in the 1700s. Apparantly their share cropper gig stopped when the British land owners and local managers found a better way to make a few more bucks. The low lands were the place to be. Other than language snobbishness and such. But to the question at hand, I'll go with the Pogues.
Hi Guys, a quick "head in the door" and I'll try and get back later.
You all seem to be doing well.
Have fun,

Paul, I've seen an old Volvo sport wagon (or whatever) down at the yacht club, same one you saw earlier. Looks like it's a 'daily driver'.

Hi Allan! LTNS!
"< RANT >"
I'm ready to strangle a whole service department at a car dealership. SWMBO bought at Toyota Rav4 from the dealership and has had it serviced there since we purchased it. Generally we've been happy with the quality and price of service. Until now. The vehicle has started to consume oil at an alarming rate. (~1qt per 1000 miles or so on an engine with 80K miles) and when we brought it in, we'd thought they hadn't added oil at the last service. They stonewalled us about issues, but started an "engine oil consumption test". We went home and found out that there was a service bulletin on the car and that if it consumed 1 qt per 1200 miles it would be the subject of a huge warranty service - if the car has less than 60K miles. The idiots at the garage put a piece of electrical tape to mark the dipstick and now the tape is loose in the engine somewhere. The wife has brought it in to get this resolved and gets stonewalled by the service advisor after I've just spoken to the service manager on the phone. The b!t*h of it is, we're planning to leave at noon for a paddling trip and we don't want to take a car with a piece of electrical tape loose in the oil system - plugged lube system - engine failure anyone? Grrrr... B@st@rds...
" < END RANT > "
So, how's your day going?
Courage, please, Lefty - and keep it coming.
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.
