The roast beef thing sounds good to me, a Lone Star and Tequila to go with it. My heart was about to jump outa my chest awhile ago. I thought I was just happy my puter was workin, seems someone did not take his meds yesterday. I was sure that I took them, I even told my watchers that I did.

Mornin everyone. Hey Bobby I heard you asking bout me the other day. I said it at coffee time on Monday but I guess everyone was talkin at the same time; I had to go to the city for meetings, made it back late last night. Without my bags. Get this one, they had problems with one plane a little twin engine Beachcraft so they brought in another. They said we couldn't check any luggage - I said no problem I just had one carry on. They said sorry no carry on either something about landing issues on a new run way.. BS, we get on the plane I go to the rear and grab a seat and hear the baggies laughing behind me saying what a f$(* joke, there's no baggage racks in this thing. No kidding I could see day light behind me the thing was stripped. Light bulb went on, they had to keep the weight down in the passanger compt so wouldn't let any carry on bags. The plane was full and there's no weight in the cargo area in the rear to balance the thing! LOL. Anyways we made it.

The city is still there (Vancouver) it was nice and warm for the most part but they can have it. There's a little update for ya pard. Glad to see all is well with you other than fergit'n some pills. Cut that out! lol. You're the reason I check in on this forum. Like Glen says you are an inspiration for a lot of us.

I was thinkin' I might get the kitchen back splashes finished today, but it's so damned cold the varnish isn't drying correctly. So I thought that while I was waiting for that to dry, I could mow some of the weeds that are springing forth from the mud wallows..... But my freakin' finger tips turned gray/black from the cold..... I fired up the wood stove to get the damp chill out, but it's just guttering.....

Yeah.... I used to stay out late, and come home smelling like an ash tray swamped in beer.... The dog was a better navigator than pilot, so he let me drive. One night, early in the morning I got home from pool league and found 4 messages from the police dept. and several more from my parents, on the answering machine... I ignored them all, figuring if it was that important they'd come by and tell me in person. I went to bed. I woke up @6AM to the phone ringing.... It was my father. He was mad. He started talking about how they thought I'd been killed, and where was I?... And.... Blah blah blah, and poor Fang was in surgery at the vets but not well and blah blah blah I looked over the edge of the bed to make sure that I'd come home with my own dog..... And there he was snoring away....
So I hung up the phone after telling my father that he had the wrong number..... A few seconds later the phone rang. It was the Guilford Police dept calling to tell me that they'd found my dog on the highway, and that he was at the vets and that there are laws and that I should..... I told them that my dog was sitting right next to me yawning, and hung up..... A few minutes later the phone rang. It was my father again......

.... Long story short: There was a dog that looked just like my dog, Fang. That dog got hit by a car and taken to the vet. The dog at the vet had a rabies tag that was registered to, according to the town records Fang. And through Fang, me. And the address on file was the address that my parents lived at, though at the time of the rabies tag acquisition, the address belonged to me..... And Fang.
But then I moved a couple of times, and Fang came with me, but the town records still had us where we'd been 7 years before. The dog at the vet looked just like Fang. The dog at the vet wagged her tail and licked my father's hand when he came to the vets because the police called him because he thought I was where I wasn't. The dog at the vets had a rabies tag with the same exact number as the town records for Fang.... The same numbers...... FOR THE YEAR BEFORE!!!!! The town hadn't updated their records... The dog at the vets died. The guy who'd dog it was pointed out that his dog was a she... And Fang was most assuredly a he.....
But to answer your question, Chip..... I do now abandon my drinking buddies occasionally, when Carter walks through the door!

Seed potatoes: I've got Yukon Gold, Norkolab, German Butterball, and Warba. I've grown Yukon Gold for years. The others are new to me. Amazing that Bobster is already harvesting new potatoes when I've not planted mine yet. This place is somewhere between zones 1-2: not exactly tropical. Most years the soil stays cold and planting early doesn't do much good. This year's quite a bit warmer, but we'll still have frosts in June.
