The owner of that bar mentioned above was married to this really hot blond, she used to cut my hair. 5 years later we were living together, he didn't appreciate that.![]()

Bonnie Raitt! That'd be great— I love her singing and she's also an excellent bottleneck guitarist. Learned it from Fred McDowell or one of those old buggers. It's fun talking to someone who's really good at something.
This is a great song:
This one has some terrific steel-string guitar work, and of course that voice.
Back in the day of vinyl I had all her selections. The girls appreciated that, they weren't into Mountain, Traffic, Blind faith...

Good-O! Heaps of vitamin C and antioxidants and all that stuff in tomato juice and hot peppers, or so I'm told.
I'm a snarling darling, I reckon. Good teeth, bad hair, and a dangerous attitude. I made a semi-final sweep of the propitty and found more dead brush that was sticking up into the air (where it'd burn like crazy) rather than lying flat and composting. So I cut a nice bunch to put under the rainsoaked prunings from the pile that's been building up for years.
There are some dead lilacs, but the Wolf Goddess thinks they will miraculously regenerate (because she'd like that). So I have to wait 'til the buds are all out before I can go after those. Probably leave them for next year. Once I burn the last heap I can distribute the ashes and turn over ground for my potato patch. Already bought most of the seed spuds.
I found one of those big, high-wheeled line trimmers on sale ($500 marked down to $300) so I bought it. Good tool for clearing out some of inflammable tangles close to the casa. Also have to do the wheel bearings on the boat trailer, so I can get on the water as soon as the sun comes out. The rivers are gonna be low this year, so I'll have to sail twice as often.
Got a pot of chile verde simmering upstairs. I save all the little bits at the end of a bag of corn chips and use them to thicken (and salt) chile. Quesadillas on the side with lettuce and tomatoes from the greenhouse.
Hope the lie-down did you some good. No mezcal for me, tonight.
Chainasaurus Rex is jus waiting a spell like a big old aligator; eyes dead still and waiting. For the right moment when some poor ass POS pisses it off and get's in it's space and it rumbles into overdrive action; screaming like Lucifer himself!! and desytroying all living thing within a tail's length in the blink of an eye!!
In other news, I loaded yet. another. load. of stuff. From the last place today.
Northern Cal and Deadheads the stories in this place - amazing I tell's ya. I met a guy up in northern BC where I was raised, knew his brother a bit from high schoool but hadn't met Dave until a few years after that. He was a bit older and had left back home to Northern California where he was born; the family had gone back to the land in the early 60s around my stompin grounds, but he wanted to check out his roots so to speak.
He ended up owning the hydroponics shop in Humbolt in the mid to late 70s. Oddly enough they did a fantastic business. Until Ronald Ray-gun got in power and got a little testy about herbage and they got buzzed big time. His partner went to Fed camp even though nothing illegal was on the property, nor was there ever they just supplied the hill folk with gear. Anyways Dave thought that he'd seen enough of his home land and came home quick like back to BC.
Wonder what ever happended to him, he was a good slide guitar player. He had a healthy twisted sence of humor and he was a humanitarian. A real good guy. ..
People can be lots of fun, when they aren't being buggers. I've always enjoyed weirdness, but never felt compelled to participate. Except when it looked really, really fun.
I lost my favourite chainsaw in a divorce, years ago. I've got a pruning saw that works for my purposes, but need a new one as it's getting dull (and no one sharpens them, that I know of). It cost about $8. The new one will be $16. So it goes.
This is my favorite of her tunes (Bonnie Raitt)...... I think..... There are about 8 close seconds.....

How'd that work?

Carter got me a good sized chainsaw for my birthday last year..... To replace the one that I was having a hard time starting for various reasons, including a compression spike that nearly ripped my elbow apart..... So she goes to the Stihl dealer, and asks him which of the new saws is about the size of my old saw..... My old saw is an o38AVsuper.... A nice saw..... Just a shade on the plus side of medium power/weight....18" bar
The new one is the equivalent of an old o58 AV....... It has a decompression button (I'd never seen one of those until I had to use a Stihl 098 with a 60" bar) came with a 24" bar and a phonebook sized operators manual. It weighs less, but it's quieter, and seems at least as powerful as the o38.... I swapped out the 24" bar for an 18" and talked them into throwing in a jug of bar oil, and a bottle of fuel mix..... No files though..... I had to buy them....
