That's one of the reasons I don't lock the cellar..... Remember what happened when Kevin got locked down there "by mistake" one night?..... I mean besides the bit about Amber's cousin Jet, that got locked down there "by mistake" with him..... That was an expensive lock on that door after that night..... The damned thing only cost $14 to begin with..... They prolly coulda picked it with a hair pin, or paperclip.....

They always seem to go around us, Just something about our location I guess. That big one that came in 99 was coming straight down our street I thought this was gonna be it, about two blocks away it made a sharp right turn, took out a church and school but missed us. It had stayed on a straight course all the way from Oklahoma city, go figger.

That's cause your a clean liv'n son of a gun Bobby, you got the karma goin on..

I unrested me back today to see if'n I could do it. I did it. But it hurts again, not as bad as yesterday. Man it feels like just a ways back ago that I was chucking 250 lb pails of railroad spikes around all day without much fuss. I guess it was all of those 30 some years though. Think I'll have a beer now

Ya need to settle down a bit. Those sore backs don't just get up and leave ya know. I was thinkin about how it used to be. I could easily carry four, five gallon cans of paint across our shop. Two in each hand. Now I do good to get a case of beer into the house. My hundred pound daughter does most of my lifting.

I got another nice day today, not to hot maybe up to 80ŗ and nice breeze. So I'll be able to do some more sandin and varnishin today, with fewer distractions (damn).

It's sunny, warm, and not windy today.... Supposed to be warmer today than it was all last summer.... Put together...

Worked in the yard yesterday - was almost too warm. Gonna be working in the basement this evening stitching a kayak skin where it's nice and cool.

    Yeah.... Been there, done that......
Part of me thinks that this would be a good day to finish pulling up rotted decking on the balcony. Part of me really doesn't want to be perched 16' above the ground, on iffy framing with nobody but Aldo around to drag my battered body into the woods, should I plummet to my death.....
The alternative is to finish painting the stairwell walls, while hanging by my toenails from the spiral steel staircase.... The basement floor would be a much swifter death than the dirt, and squirrel poo that I'd land in off the deck...... Decisions, decisions, decisions......

That's what safety harnesses were invented for... Seems like a nice day to sit in the yard and squirrel watch - with a rifle. Anyway, it might be just a bit too humid to paint.

Say - I gotta question. Seeing as how the Reverend isn't around to ask, is Memphis BBQ an indirect heat operation? I got a nice Memphis style rub that was a gift and have some nice country-style boneless strips sitting in it to cook tonite. That, some sweet onion poppyseed coleslaw, some broccoli and rice followed up by some strawberry shortcake.

Chili cheese dogs, grilled, or steamed. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, turkeyburgers, and (gasp!) tofuburgers... Grilled over hardwood charcoal, and topped with anything under the sun that you can imagine... (We had a customer last year who liked to put twinkie fillets on his cheeseburgers...)
And we have grilled baby octopus, with a zesty West Indies sweet/hot pepper sauce.
All served with fries,and/or onion rings and a small side salad.
    Special on tap: Pearl Lager.

Funny you should ask that, Noey..... I talked to MMike yesterday (He's doing very well, and says to say "Hi" to all us good people), and he was cooking his signature BBQ steak wraps, while watching the kids run their bicycles into his car...
I'd say that indirect would be the way to do it, but you might should oughtta give them a little blast of direct hot to give them that nice crust we all love..... If I was doing a whole batch of ribs (30-40Lbs) I'd just smoke em for 6 hours, but a small batch like you have might just turn to cardboard that way.....

Yeah, I can't cook 'em as long and low as I'd like. I'm going to add some pecan smoke to 'em, but I was thinking to sear on both sides to get the crust and then turn it down low and cover to let the smoke do it's thing for maybe 45 minutes or so. There is just enough fat in the meat that I'm thinkin' they'll be reasonably tender.

I don't think you can compare TGI Fridays with Cracker Barrel, at least not down here. Fridays has really good booze. The other place only serves old fashion southern food with coffee, tea or pop
