I get most of my pickling fix these days from pickled herring. "Roll mops" to be exact, herring wrapped round a piece of dill pickle skewered with a tooth pick. Goood Schtuff

The cow story's gonna have to wait..... I'm being taunted by a puppy who knows damned well that he needs to go out and....... squat, but is having more fun torturing elderly cats and..... Me.
And I'm just plain old beat..... I gotta remember that I've lost 40 pounds of muscle, and the attending stamina..... I feel like a wet kitten.

Dangit Lefty come down here. I will have you back up to weight in two weeks. The muscle ,thats your problem![]()

One end bites. I know that. You get on the left. But in Australia they get on the right. If you say different, they pitch a bluey.
I rode for a living for several years and never owned a horse. Love horses, but I didn't have the land or money to keep one. But I looked for jobs that kept me in the saddle. When I was a Forest Service range cop, I was riding 20-40 miles a day, out of line shacks in the mountains while my cowboy mates were irrigating hay and cutting it and baling it and stacking it. Farm work— Ugh!
I was looking through the file cabinet for pictures for a memorial service for my brother and found this one, that I hadn't seen for many years.
A sheepherder snapped it, with my camera, at a camp near Raid Lake in the Wind Rivers. 1982 or so. Boy, I was proud of those handmade shotgun chaps and packer boots. Still have the hat, a 4x Stetson, and it still fits. Or is it a 3x? Better go look.

A couple shots of tequilla up on this here bar that's what's up Bobby, here ya go
A couple of years back we went to a little beach town a couple hrs drive south of Puerto Vallarta. There was this restaurant/bar owned by some old dude who was a famous singer in his day, but he was from central america some place. Anyways he had his own stuff made back in the hills where the agave cactus thrives. It was first press at the right time of the year, yada yada... Tell you what it was good, a must see in that little town. I remember walking home one night but it was like someone else was doing the walking.![]()
Salty, you sound like someone I know. That Chip guy, well he looks like the real deal. Even if he does drink wine.Peace bros.

He does look like the real deal right down to the wall tent. He'd get along pretty good in the boonies up here.
What's the over/under on whether Aldo'll wake me up @3:30 needing to go out, or whether he won't bother waking me, and I'll step in a slippery cold wet pile of love on my way into the bathroom?......
I'm history...

Lefty, two words for you - dog door. And a bit of a fenced off area outside of that so puppy don't run away
Morning peoples, did the man step in it or just get woke up? Coffee is ready. I think I saw some cinnamon rolls on the counter.

Mornin Bobby. I'm up for a cup of that java. How You feelin on this fine Friday morn?
"Bundinn er bátlaus maður" Bound is boatless man.
Morning BobbyT. Leave some rolls for me, I'll have one when I get up. Long hard tough day...got taken to a flower show by SWIMPAL.
Oh, the humiliation.
There are non-flowerery things though......and some of the stalls sold garden tools......so I scored a 8" Japanese feather edge file for sharpening saws.
It's got a really fine cut on it and is supposed to be "extra hard".....we'll see.
Anyway, I was feeling pretty pleased with myself, getting dragged out and still managing to buy a tool. Yep. I was pleased. So, the files in my coat pocket and I take it out "for a look" and I think "that's really fine, I wonder what I can test it on?".......as you do.
And that's how I came to be sitting in a cafe tent, at a flower show......filing my nails.
Hope you have a good day BobbyT, I'm off to bed.

So Chris how is your day so far? Big plans or what?

Gotta go crawl around in the bilge before the mechanic gets here. No water flow to the A\C, diver said yesterday that through hull fitting was clear so now I gotta check the hose to the strainer, hose to the pump, then the pump, then the hose to A\C units. Most of which is under the engine. When that's done I get to cut holes for fresh air returns in all the hanging lockers that have A\C units in them for the cabins. Then re-install the 1/4" aromatic cedar in the hanging lockers that was installed over the A\C units. Then clean up some electrical connections that the electrician left undone. Help the mechanic working on the stabilizers and synchronizers. I might even have a minute or two to briefly cast a glance at my varnish job (doubt it). Hopefully, the Owner has no computer issues that have to be addressed IMMEDIATELY.So, hows about you? Any updates on your bow?

Doggy door?..... I thought that's what humans were for.... It's not so much the idea of going out to take care of business that Aldo needs to address, as it is the ability to hold it in long enough for one of us to wake up to open the door for him.... He's only 12 weeks old, so his little puppy bladder hasn't developed into the massive beer holding tank that some of us have obtained.
Around 3:30 I got up and asked him if he needed to go out too. He just yawned and went back to sleep. About 5 minutes later there was a frantic whining and puppy jumping up against the bed sound. I groaned and flicked on the light, and by then he'd already sprung a little leak. Luckily his little puppy bladder is just that.... Little.
But there were no little steaming brown coils, and he had a successful stroll outside @ 6:45....
(God! I sound like a freakin' helicopter father! Talking about my child's bowel movements!......GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!)
Coffee and an onion beagle with cream cheese and butter for me thanks..... Who's in the kitchen this morning... Geno?

The howling wind, and warm temperatures of yesterday afternoon/evening are a lingering memory now.
But it's Friday (I think) and that counts for something!
Today we have beautiful boneless chuck steaks which have been packed in a proprietary blend of sea salt and ground black pepper for 1 hour before going on the hardwood charcoal grill and sizzling to moist and tender medium rare deliciousness! Sliced razor thin, and served with a double stuffed baked potato, and buttery baby string beans.
1 1/4Lb. boiled lobsters served with hand cut fries, and a small side salad.
Quartered barbecued chicken. Sweet and smoky, with crispy skin, and succulent tender meat. Served with hand cut fries, and a cool ranch cucumber salad.
Vegetarian vegetable soup, served with a variety of slicing cheeses, and crusty fresh bread.
Special on tap: Propeller Bitter.

I think I will start with the soup and bread, and If it can over power this nasty pine taste I will move on from there.

Lefty I`m glad you had a non coiler evening and that puppy is keeping you on the excersise and rehab program
I just had a freakin' flashback to a thread that Ish posted long ago about his room mate's poodle, and middle of the night cold squishy things between the toes...... This was back when he was renting a double wide trailer, before he bought the pre-fab onna slab.....
