Ouch! Take it easy, pard. Plumbers are a damn sight cheaper than surgeons. I brought in a pot of green chile to warm up and some tortillas. Cheese, too.

G'day Paul. Sorry I was cranky last night, but listening to Nine Inch Nails brings out the worst in me. Not the absolute worst, but maybe second or third worst.

It's been blowing like mad (usual) and also raining. In Wyoming in January. Bloody Hell! Guess I should move to Seattle, where it snows.

I'll have a double Tyrconnell whisky, for a toast to our dear lost Sophie, with a beaker of water at the side. A bowl of peanuts (roasted, unsalted, in the shell) for my furry friend—

Internal bleeding is not a great thing to go to bed with. Were you coughing up blood before you did the plumbing?

Think of it this way— if your daughter was coughing up blood, would you take her to see the doc?

My daughter, unlike her dad wants to get older. If Tequila wont fix it, so be it.

Bow tie Danish..... They're flaky pastry dough with sugar lace glazing. Sometimes they have marzipan filling, or raspberry jam.... Seriously yummy..... Especially when served by your grandmother on a snowy winter morning while you're still in your footy pajamas... It helps if grandpa scowls while spooning into his grapefruit, as a squirt gets him expertly in the eye....

    Like Proust and the madeleine.

G'day, all. Looks like Lefty has launched The Brunch of Mass Destruction. A carpet bombing with calories. I'll have the usual Long Black.

Trying to decide whether to work on the solar hot air collector or stay in the house. Cold and windy today and the shop will be coolish: about 45°F. On sunny days I can blow excess heat in from the greenhouse and get it warm enough for painting and gluing. Wonder what the setting temp is for silicone caulk?

Brandy butter: Dice 180g butter and add an equal weight of soft brown sugar. Beat until soft. Stir in 3 tbsp of brandy. Add 50g of ground almonds if you wish. Cover and keep in the fridge for up to a week. Serves 10-12.

Sounds yummy, PeeMa...I may have to cook that roast and all the trimmings for dinner.

Scottish weather is so driech that only oats and barley will ripen, so they had to exist on parrich. Then the Diaspora used it to reinforce their Scottishness. Over here we talk of porridge oats 'cos the only other use for the stuff is horse provender.

No wonder English horses are so chubby.....

Carter cooked up some pork tenderloin medallions with a lemon zest garlic glaze that was superb tonight. I shall add this to the PUB menu board..... Served with steamed broccoli, and white rice cooked in chicken stock..... 70% Cocoa Dark Grenada chocolate with cocoa pod crunchies for desert...... Heaven..... I'm in heaven.....
Unfortunately (Or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I have to go to the hospital tomorrow morning to have more holes poked in me....
Anything to cure this damn mystery ailment...... At this point I really don't care if they call it Lyme disease, or Fred..... Just fix it!

That wouldn't be so scary if I haven't been watching Carter's sister (One of the most uncoordinated people I've ever met in my life, but very sweet) taking tap danceing lessons for the last 5-6 years...
A balmy 35f and spitting rain...
Chicken pot pie, with biscuits and butter.
Beef pot roast with corn bread, and steamed broccoli.
Spicy Thai beer battered shrimp, with sweet-N-hot pepper dip.
    Special on tap: Narragansett Porter.

May I just say how much I love the US health care system?.....
Bobby.... Grab me up a cold beer, and a bowl of popcorn please.... I need to get in some couch time....
Damned idiots didn't even know what I was doing there, when I got there, then the second half of the procedure wasn't scheduled, then they stuck me in a basement room for 2 hours while they figured out why I was there, and then they called Carter's office (70 miles away) to arrange for a delivery of meds that are supposed to be delivered here at home.....
Let's see how we can put the patient at ease..... Amazingly my BP was only 125/73.... I would have expected much higher considering that I was just about as calm as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.....

Beer and popcorn, need anything else? The doctors down here would have done two or three procedures on you in that length of time. Whether you needed it or not.
