Give that man a Speight's.
Or a gin. And I'll take the Speight's.
I'm glad that Bobby T is well. Please tell him to hurry back because none of the rest of you can dance worth a damn.
Lefty can't see what he's doing. Chip keeps stopping and howling at the moon, I'm not sure what it is that Glen's doing and Sean just struggles with the gravity of it all on the other side of the world.
It's a little early for a drink to toast you but I guess I can make an exception.
So hurry back Bobby, I'm glad that you are doing OK!

Dance? I can't walk and chew gum.![]()
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.
Nobody's asking you to walk Noey....
Chilly again this morning, but not as bad as yesty.....
I am so looking forward to being able to see well enough to shoot squirrels again w/o having to worry about blowing holes in the house, or killing the neighbors..... The damned things were up all night running back and forth across the roof... What are they doing up there anyway? They don't stay in one place long enough to be accomplishing anything. There's no food up there. If I was a squirrel this time of year, I'd be balled up in a nice nest full of leaves, and acorns in a hollow in a tree somewhere.....
Today we have hot carrot ginger soup, with warm baguettes and creamy Camembert cheese.
Roast leg of lamb, with mint sauce. Served with oven roasted potatoes, carrots, and onions, and steamed broccoli with Hollandaise sauce.
Foot long chili dogs with diced sweet onion, and melted Swiss cheese.Served with fries and a pickle.
1/3Lb. ground chuck burgers served on a large poppy seed roll with lettuce, tomato, roast sweet red peppers, onion, bacon, and your choice of cheese (I'm having Gouda). Served with onion rings and a pickle.
Special on tap: Stag. (It's a man's beer!)

Thanks Chip-skiff and Sophie for the suggestions! I think my problem was trying to upload from my blog and not checking off some box...I really should just transfer my images to Flicker like Sophie suggested. I get all hopped up and spontaneous and never want to take the time, lol!
Hope he stops in The PUB soon!
Meanwhile, I could use a second cup of coffee, Douglas! ...please...![]()
Coffee...... Hmmppfft!
Be glad I don't smoke or you'd get cigarette ashes in yer eggs....
Want cream and/or sugar with that?
I gotta git movin' here...... I'm sposed to be doing something today..... Fixing the stereo.... Yeah...... That's the ticket..... The right channel seems to be a bit dim.....
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
Of course M'dear!
Not sure coffee goes with that.... Perhaps a nice deep zinfandael (Not that kool-aid crap that people were drinking back in the '80's..... The real stuff, which is a deep dark red with hints of currant, and blackberry, and not at all "sweet") would go nicely with that.... Or a good pinot noir.... Let's not forget... It's after 5 somewhere!
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
Stepped on the scales after my shower this morning... anything "lite" available today?
Why?
either...
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.
I too will toast to BobbyT and Lefty.here is hoping Bobby gets feeling better soon and joins us again here at the pub.
And Lefty, here is hoping your eye operation works wonders and you'll be able to see well.

And I'd just like to let J. B. Chicoine know how very impressed of your great talents I am. Checked your blog and web pages this morning. You are a very, very talented lady.
Fantastic.

Thank you Spinny! And I've been telling JB how talented she is for a while now.... But maybe coming from a woman it'll kick in.....
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........... Noooooooooooooooooey!..... We have video proof that you can indeed dance!
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
"Lite" Phil?....... Why.... Yes! Indeed! We have a very nice "lite" chicken taco with refried beans, chopped chipotle chilis, grilled onion, salsa, lettuce, tomato and guacamole.... No sour cream though.... Sorry.... That would make it un-lite.....
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
The bells keep getting in my face in that video...
We've got a programmer here who is a rabid Morris Dancer. Who'da thunk it?
BTW - How can you tell a rabid Morris Dancer? He's got a stack of deer antlers in the back of his Subaru and some 6' long metal swords.
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.
Morris Dancers....AKA "Mo-Danks".... Weird people, but they tend to gravitate towards very good beer....
They used to descend on Marlboro, VT every so often.... One thing was pretty much assured when the Mo-Danks came to town..... And it wasn't good beer.....The Mo-Dankettes were very...... Healthy young ladies....

hi all, popping in for something nonalcoholic as i'm at work again, but i'm staring at 4 days off in a row so i'll be sure to dip into the stronger libations shortly. for now... a (virgin) arnold palmer'll do the trick i think.
though i don't know you, glad to hear those with health issues are getting better, *raises glass* Sláinte (my wife's irish, what can i say it rubs off on ya, and i dont know any good toasts in Dutch)

Bobby called from the hopsicle. Said they finally took the restraints off after he promised to stop goosing the nurses.
They might let him out tomorrow afternoon..... Might.
He had part of one lung removed, and a piece of healthy lung tissue grafted on in it's place.
I promised I'd let everyone know, and set up a round of Patron and Lonestars.....
(You can have whatever you like.... We'll just tell him it was all rot gut and horse piss!)
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
It was good to hear from him, Larry.... He sounded a bit tired, and was wheezing a bit more than usual, but all things considered, he sounded pretty good!

Great.... I can't even put eye drops in without wincing and blinking..... How'm I sposed to let them get near my eye with an exacto knife without blinking?.....
On that cheery note..... i'm gonna go give my eyes a rest..... got an oncologist appt. tomorrow morning, so I need to look and feel my best.... Nytol!
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
Owright. I'll drink to the Bobster's health in his way: tequila. And Lone Star. Make the beer really cold— I don't wanna taste it.
And don't look at me when I'm drinking or I'll laugh and sneeze it out my nose.
Another toast: The skin off yer knockers! (North Dublin slums— knockers are knuckles.)
It's really quick but weird— sort of like one of those alien abduction scenarios.
That's good news about Bobby
I hope he heals really quickly.
Nothing like bumping a guy's blood pressure up a few notches before he goes to see his hematologist/oncologist....
The very first thing I'm gonna do after I get my eyes back, is kill a small pile of squirrels.... Yes, they're very cute, especially the little flying squirrels. But they're wrecking my sleep, and gnawing my house.
Fresh off the boat bay scallops sauteed in a very light shallot/garlic butter with a splash of white wine and lemon. served over linguine with crumbled bacon and fresh basil pesto. Side salad of baby field greens and slivered bosc pears.
Spicy Thai pork satay with prawn chips and jasmine rice.
Grilled cheese sandwich with a nice hot bowl of creamy tomato soup.
Rare razor thin sliced rib eye steak on lightly toasted rye, with mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato. Served with onion rings, french fries, and a pickle that would make John Holmes blush.
Special on tap: Grolsch. (Served in recycled Grolsch bottles with the little ceramic pop tops so you can play with them at the bar/table)

Clearly it wasn't "WTF" enough that I woke today immediately wanting a corned beef and onions with lots of mustard. I thought it odd at the time, but now...
Now that I've seen Hugh Jackman singing Oklahoma. That really makes me wonder what other WTF moments are coming down the line today. Yikes.
Gordon MacRae must have pissed off someone upstairs the day that casting was done!
Knowledge: Tomatoes are fruit.
Wisdom: Tomatoes do not belong in fruit salad.
Oh gosh, Thanks for your kind words...especially from one artist to another...I'm a little at a loss for words (some writer...)
As for you Douglas, you have no idea how much your encouragement has meant to me...you've helped eat away at many doubts...I should say thanks more often...
Time to check today's menu...
Sure hope all goes well Douglas...I'll put my lunch order in now, before you go...Fresh off the boat bay scallops sauteed in a very light shallot/garlic butter with a splash of white wine and lemon. served over linguine with crumbled bacon and fresh basil pesto. Side salad of baby field greens and slivered bosc pears, please.
Thanks![]()
My pleasure Breezjheet!
Would you like a nice chilled chardonay to go with that, or a Grolsch?..... I think you'd like the Grolsch, but the chard might go better....
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
How about I start with the Grolsch and finish with the chardonay--post noon, of course...
+1 for the scallops. A black and tan with that, please!!
Why?
How very odd..... I can't get the last page of this thread to open.....
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
There we go!
Thanx Nick! And yes.... Gray (grey) squirrels are quite good eatin'... Need a few to make an hors d'ouvre, but they taste a lot like Lapin aux cerises noires, if you cook 'em right.... A little preserved black cherries, some pinot noir, some Kirsch wasser...... Veggie stock, onions, or better yet ramp or leeks.....
Never trust a man with a clean workshop.
So if Bobby is out of the hospital where the heck is my Red Stripe?
In reality, I just gorged the Christmas Pud leftovers, better than when I first tried it, but my alimentary canal is complaining now
I just realised what you guys were on about. Eating squirrels! Yuck!
Next you'll be all tucking into rat!!
Don't you be putting either of those on the menu Lefty!
It's hard enough to get you to make a vegetarian option as it is!
This late I'll have a nice malt of your choice Sir to help me sleep!
Sophie, who's not eating no squirrels!
I et muskrat and beaver.
Ain't shamed of it, neither.
Nice rat ona stick? Anybody?
I'll have a Sassy Red, ta.
