THE quarter? When was the last time you played pool at a bar?!
Anyway....Save your quarter... This table is open pocketed... (It was salvaged from a grand estate once owned by J.D. Rockefeller in upstate New York.)

I guess I have to come out there and educate you on some really tasty new foods...

.... Wow..... No ringing phone at 6:00 AM...... No clink clink clink of breakfast dishes.... No television turned up just enough to hear something, but not enough to make out the words..... It's like I actually live here....

Broiled lamb chops (rib) with garlic and rosemary. Served with mashed potatoes, braised baby carrots, and steamed broccoli.
Beef chili. Not too hot. but your lips will itch, and you might get a little sweat on your brow... It has some black beans in it, so if you're one of those freaks that think chili shouldn't have beans, don't eat it. I like it with a big hunk of chewy bread, and butter, but we also have grated cheddar, and sourcream.
Special on tap today: Stroh's (It's fire brewed!) Lager.

Afternoon, kids!
Haven't been around in a while but I'm moderately hungry and that chili sounds just about perfect, especially with a hunk of bread.
Ms. Barkeep? Do you have a decent Porter hidden back there someplace? If so, I'll gladly take one.
What's with the fighting over the jukebox? "If music be the food of love, play on"!
Let me put a couple of bucks in and set it up for a few plays. We'll get away from country for a moment, maybe that will settle ya'll down:

Chili's darned good, by the way, though not nearly as hot as predicted. Could I have a little more? Huh?
Coming right up...

Love that Pink Floyd...What would you like to drink? I'm buying,
Let's turn up the heat... Something that rocks with some good guitars.. We have to wake up some of the Old-Boys drooling at the bar...
Another bowl of chili coming right up... Another Porter? It's on me...

Wow Spin_Drift.....
That big bowl of chili surely hit the spot.... Even after I spinkled some of my cajun peppers in it..
Yes, I always carried a little bottle of dried uncrushed cayenne peppers

Oh, I think we can do that. Let's go back a few years to when Fleetwood Mac was an edgy blues band, before they got soft:Let's turn up the heat... Something that rocks with some good guitars.

And, yes, I'd love another porter - thanks for asking!
Or maybe some vintage Mike Bloomfield?

Dang - those chilis look darned near perfect! Home grown?
I came in here looking for a nice lamb stew, but man those chilis will turn anybody's mind around! Light me up!
Knowledge: Tomatoes are fruit.
Wisdom: Tomatoes do not belong in fruit salad.
Well, well, well... If it burns going in, -imagine the burn when it's coming out...
I think I'll have some of your hot peppers too and please make a plate for Cass and Kalevala also.
Don't want to dance to the burn alone...![]()
Here is something to wash it down with...
This is not your Daddy's Coors or Bud Light. This is a serious beer handmade
in Mexico with a Hot Serrano Chili Pepper inserted by hand in every Bottle.

Sorry, I borrowed that photo...
Those are cayenne peppers..
I grow them every year to keep stock up on them... We use a lot of it in our cooking here... use it on about everything we please... Except for turkeys, we don't want to run the in-laws outta of house...
I even make chipotle too... "Smoked Jalopenos over applewood"
Peppers can be healthy for ya, or could be harmful...
Just like an chicken egg, some say it good for you and some say it bad for you...
save a nose, pick a banjo
That beer's HORRIBLE! I had it twice. The first one I thought a friend was playing a rude joke on me because I like hot stuff. The second one was just as bad. Not only is it cheap, bad beer, but it's made even worse by infusing it with hot peppers. Kinda like tabasco brand salad dressing....Or Hot pepper ice cream...... Some things are supposed to be REFRESHING, not hot.
OK rant over......Carry on.....

I'm with you Lefty, I like my beer cold and refreshing.

Hey,Lefty
Break out the Grand Marnier! Pour a shot for everyone in the pub tonight. And leave the bottle on the bar. Let us all sit back, reflect and pay tribute to all the souls lost to the sea,and the close calls.
I know i've had my fair share of close calls. In the morning make it a point to check your emergency locating devices, life rafts and by all means don't be bashfull get the survival suits out and try them on for size. Take a swim it can make the difference between lost soul and close call !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The F/V Lady Blackie was from Homer Alaska. I know the crew so this really hits home.

Sausage.... Both sweet Italian, and hot Italian, slow cooked in white wine, then chopped into large bite size pieces, and set aside in a bowl of marsala. Sweet green peppers, onions, garlic, and fennel quick seared, then simmered until the onions start to get clear. Meanwhile, in another pan, eggs and heavy cream are being scrambled with diced tomato. When the eggs are to your liking (I like mine hard and dry), we mix in the sausage and the veggies.....
Or a simple meatloaf sandwich on hearty rye, with fries and a big dill pickle.

Special on tap today: Rodenbach Grand Cru, from West Flanders, Belgium. A Flemish red ale, it's a hearty beer, with a lot of "character". It is widely regarded by connoiseurs to be one of the world's finest beers. I don't let that scare me away, it's pretty damn tastey too! 6% alc lets you know it's there, without stealing the show.

AH! Well! Glad to see your friends made it out alive! I was fearing a worse outcome....
On that note.... Alaskan King crab legs, steamed to perfection, and served with lemon and drawn butter. Side dishes of boiled pearl onions, fried potatoes, and artichokes. Belly up folks! There's lots of them, but they rarely last long!![]()

Near my in-law's in the UK, it's got to be Harp. If you put Guiness with Bass, they refer to it as a "Bloody Awful Mistake" not a Black-and-Tan.
Kinda chilly. How about that sausage with a little sauce, cheese, peppers and onions on a roll with a nice Mackeson's Extra, please. Oh, and room temperature, not cold, of course.
