Hey! It's MY Hughniverse!
I stopped by F&W today. All three hulls are replanked (double planking) and they are starting in on the fairing. Vern Spinoza (the supervisor of the work?) told me that the planks were all made to one pattern, straight on the top, curved on the bottom, shellacked, edgeset and fastened in place.
If I understand that correctly, and I may not, it's yet another labor-saving Herreshoff method that I wasn't aware of.
The Silverman designed SPITFIRE (see 'New Projects' on the website) is also planked up epoxy/veneer style.
