Default Another Mom needing good thoughts ...

My mother fell badly in the shower and is having surgery tomorrow to repair a broken leg and a broken ankle; the other leg, also broken, will get better with only a cast. She's 84, Dad is 89, and they don't want us to come and help. Grrrrrr. So we're going to take turns, but the big thing is the surgery tomorrow. She's going to be in the hospital for a couple of weeks, and then a rehab home for a couple of months.

They say that there's no sign of heart attack or stroke or anything other than a simple fainting spell, so things are much better than the intitial report from a neighbor seemed.

Hang in there. I will keep your mom and dad in my thoughts as well. You are lucky to have them around.

All the best from this side of the pond..
Complicated problems usually have simple solutions - which are almost always wrong.

She's out of surgery, which went fine, recognizes people, and is reportedly doing fine. Dad and brother Ralph are going home to collapse while she torments the exercise physiologist with questions.
