    Default laminated frames again

    Hi;

    Bernadette will definetly know this, but the question is general.
    While looking at their Mlabar II construction photos at
    http://crip.moorey.net/toplevel/boat...tion/Malabar2/
    I've seen a bunch of frames that were stacked against a wall and later fastened to a deadwood.

    Were the frames laminated?

    It puzzles me that I've seen no molds that would be used to mount steam-bent frames, as described in Macintosh's book. Are therefore the pre-bent (laminated?) frames in Decathur's case used a some sort of molds and secondary frames are put it later, as seen in the photographs?

    Regards,

    Gvido

    Just guessing from looking at the pictures but they seem to be double sawn frames. If you look closely you can see fasteners.

    These frames are mounted and act as molds, rib bands installed, and steam bent frames added in between from the inside.
