    hey folks,
Today was one heck of a nasty cold rainy day, so instead of playing in the rain, I went up to Hamilton marine. On the way I noticed a grove of locust trees in someones yard. I had seen these before, but today I saw that the owner had cut the bark off the trunks of four of them, which is one way of killing a tree. On my way home, I saw that the fellow was outside, so I stopped and introduced myself and asked what he was doing with the trees. He said that he was tired of looking at them, and was in amazement that I was interested in them. He said that I could have them, and didn't mind if I just went and cut off some limbs. The thing is, I just last week took delivery of 1000 bf of the stuff, so my needs aren't great. about the only things I want are some very curvy branches that will be good for the log rail going around the stern of my round- sterned bugeye. I figured that there must be someone who would like to take advantage of this opportunity. Let me know if you want to get in on it.

I'm interested. And I'll be up there for the WoodenBoat Show. My friend's bandsaw mill can handle up to 16" diameter I think. I just ordered 20 board feet from him today. But i'd like to lay in a small supply.

    hi again,
There are four trees that he wants to get rid of, and they're all about 50'to 60' tall, and maybe 16-18 diameter. You wont be able to get many big pieces out of them, but there are some nice crooks and sweeps if what you're looking for isn't too big.
