Once the hull is planked and turned, the keel will fit in this ditch:

On this table I am making the frames:

And this is 45 kg New Foundlander / English sheepdog UNDER the table IN the ditch

There was no way she was leaving this spot. Nothing could seduce her to come out. After one hour, when I started to think about disassembling the table , she found her way out.

That is hilarious. Beautiful start you have there. As long as you have permission from the 45 kg's of sheepdog, you may get a lot done! - JB

Cute dog. Why move him, he's having fun.

Mind if we hijack this thread to show our nautical dog piccies?
This one is my dog Sophie with my eldest, Dean. Sophie is sitting on what was to become, about an our later, the bottom panel of my first boat.

That's just a dog's way of saying 'Make sure there's room for me aboard...took a look at the web site, always liked those designs, reminds me of Lyle Hess, Paul Gartside, and others. Smaller but heavy boats that can go anywhere. Best of luck.

I bid $1.98 for that dog, is that to high?

That looks like a good dog, all the right instincts. Digging, check, stubborn, check, devoted, check, you can't help but love-em.

Good start - Question, will you introduce rot or mold spores by buring the keel?

    Edsr,

None of them I hope. The hull will be in a kind of cradle, and I will have logs in the ditch where the keel sits on.
But nevertheless..I will re-think this over. Maybe an extra barrier of film, though not blocking air circulation

    Thanks for the tip.

1.98 ?? For that price I keep her myself

    regards

Nothing better than a good helper-dog! And people wonder why the sails I build for them all have little black hairs stuck in the seams...

Never seen a dog dig that straight before, he's one of a kind. Or maybe one of 2 of a kind. Who's read the diggingest dog?
