Recently I purchased a wooden Sunfish
(mahogony ply).I found a Sunfish web site ,looked
up the serial # of my boat, and much to my surprise
it was 1968.I thought they started making glass
Sunfish in 1960.Did they(Alcort) continue to make them out of wood at the same time they were useing
glass? Our did someone take the deck plate off
a glass boat and put it on my wood boat?

Alcort did start making glass boats in 1960, though they kept wooden kit boats in the line for a while (the last reference I found was '63, but I don't know how much longer they were available). Alcort was sold to AMF in 1969 and AMF didn't build any wooden fish. Who knows? They may have had a "garage sale" before selling out and had a few kits to unload.
