For those of you who know this NZ built boat which has been domiciled in San Diego.

Bruce ( who skippers Arcturus) and a partner have bought the boat , made some urgent deck and motor repairs over 8 months and sailed her back here to NZ in the hurricane season. I was really surprised to see her this early but it just shows you. Bruce said he had perfect sailing weather all the way with the worst being here as he arrived.
She's one big boat at 70 something ft and the volume that goes with the type. I was impressed with the engine.. a panzer tank/ U boat Deutz straight 8 .

She past us last Friday heading out, big beast of a boat.... looks like she needs taller masts or less deck clutter....

she is what she is.. a late 40's luxury motor sailer capable of extended sea passages.( built for the Spencers)
Bruce thinks it had a taller mast but I'm not so sure going by the photos.
I think he deserves a medal for bringing it back meself. He's a clever boy, is Bruce.

PS, guess what sort of anchor she has. starts with a 'b'.

heh nope no idea.... never guess in a million years....

i think last friday racing out she fired up her engine... after sailing along in company with us for ages as it got dark she suddenly took off in the direction of Maurangi aweful fast like..... [img]smile.gif[/img]
