We crossed tacks with this David Stevens designed and built beauty on Saturday. They were on starboard, we were on port, so we ducked close under their stern. Tom Gallant's "Avenger" I think, but MMD could confirm.

I believe that is Atlantica,A sister ship to Avenger.Another fine Stevens design.

And I believe thats a mighty sweet looking schooner! Thanks Wilson![]()
Shane;
Either boat,you are certainly right.They are sweet lookin' schooners.Although,to be picky I do prefer the gaff fore and main to the gaff fore and marconi main.But that's just me.
Earl
If the foremast is brand new then it is Atlantica. What a beauty.

Steven;
Hi,if you check the sail number,67,with the pics of Alantica from the NSSA site you will see they are the same.It probably represents the fact that she was built by David Stevens at Expo 67 in Montreal.Both boats have been upgraded and worked on over the past few years.
Earl
It is Atlantica.
She was participating in the 9th annual "Martin's River Invitational Regatta", a fun race organized by a local resident. This year there were 17 boats (down from 22 last year because the Rolling Stones were in nearby Moncton) including 3 schooners (Atlantica being the largest), several other woodies, cruising boats and a couple of racing machines. The race is, of course, followed by the obligatory party and awards ceremony which went on well into the night!
We were aboard "Arronta", a Crocker Gull and were lucky enough to cross tacks with Wilson's beauty as well!
