The oldest boat in the fleet Koomooloo (sponsored by real estate firm Ray White) has won division E in the classic race. Admittedly it was the most benign weather in years and years but Koomooloo did a great job nonetheless to beat her winning time in 1968 by twelve hours.

The weather in south east Australia has been fantastic for the Christmas and New Year, but we're looking at an opressive 40+ degrees for New Years Eve. Let's hope the mix of heat and alcohol doesn't ruin the party! It looks like the last boat in the race Gillewa, will spend NYE at sea.

Twenty coats of varnish on the hull? That must be a new record surely!

Sounds like just the restoration is worthy of a WB article.

Nice to see it back out racing.

Koomooloo on the slip. "The Koomooloo is a Sparkman and Stevens design built as cold moulded construction. The top sides were varnished mahogany." From Google and the photographer unknown.
