ricardo...Imagestation is terrible...Have discovered that there is no sense downl;oading more than one pic at a time.
Find another source.
There have been some suggested periodically...on or in the bilge.
No, I mean the Imagestation pics links at this board...
Big time...
flickr is great. I now use it exclusively. imagestation be damned!![]()
demede...![]()
Can anybody see this one? From Imagestation?

ricardo...even using imagestation...once the pics are downloaded...I don't have a problem...
And I think Brian is demonstrating my point.
I'm serious. For a while I can't see a damn pic. No usual boat porn not even PMJ's turned bowls...Nothing at all. Something wrong with my computer or...?
Super cute pic Brian. Just edit that clorox bottle in the background and it will be perfect![]()
ricardo...did you get Brian's?
I don't think based on what he has written that he uses imagestation..
If ya didn't get it...it is your COMPUTER screwing up.

I can't see a thing...Not even the clorox stuff...
I sold that boat. It's a 1976 Fiberform.
Uncas,
The picture I posted is hosted (hey, that rhymes) at ImageStation. But your right I use PhotoBucket now, but not for the picture above.
If it's my machine any hint? Everything was normal 'till the last lightingstorm I guess...
OKAY...still...as far as seeing the pic on the screen...once it has been downloaded and placed on a post shouldn't be a problem...imagestation is really outta the picture by then...it is just the conduit..
ricardo,
How about this one, from Photobucket?...
Can you see it?
do you see anything in its place? the little red X? you may have your browser set to block pics, check your settings. also see if you can right click on the pic place holder symbol (if you see one) and use the "load image now" option, or "open image in a new window", see fi that does anything.
oh yes. Cool pic.
are you sure about that? i see lots of old links from imagestation that i used to be able to see that will occasioanly have an imagestation place holder sayign the image is not available, or something similar.Originally posted by uncas:

that thing is gorgeous.
I just restored the default settings for the Explorer. I'll check some Imagestation stuff now. Ah, Brian, sorry. The pic is cool and the boat is a super super pretty one.

Sorry, but that is not correct. The picture never actually gets transferred to the computer that runs the WoodenBoat forum, all that goes onto the WoodenBoat forum computer is a link that tells your browser where to get the picture. When you open a page on the forum with, say, a picture hosted on Imagestation on it, YOUR computer goes out and tries to get the picture from Imagestation directly.Originally posted by uncas:

Yeah, what he said.
I host most of my own images on my own website (which most of you folks who pay an ISP bill also have as part of the service), so the link posted in this (and other) forums just links to the image on the web.
For free commercial hosting sites, I prefer www.picturetrail.com as it seems a bit more friendly than imagestaion. I use this service when at work and I can't ftp (upload) images to my personal website.
You can test this by going to any website, getting the image location /url from a image (usually by right-clicking), and then posting it here -- please delete the link afterwards to avoid bandwidth wasteage.
Here's one from the Duckworks site -

As far as I know, all my imagestation images show up here on the WBF nearly all the time.Every now and again their site will be down but apart from that they seem to work.
I do have trouble when I try to link to it on other sites though. Its intermittent on the 2 NZ sites I use for example. I once tried to put up a pic on the classic boat site too but nada or red x.
I don't know what causes that.
I can see all of them but Imagestation's is nada.
Minutes to show the red cross then "Show Image" in the right click dialog box and nada again.
I can see em all. and mine down in my last photo thread.
I found that flickr has not failed me as of yet.
web page
I was recently looking at one of my Imagestation albums , and when I tried to access the "original " of a certain image , got a message informing me I could no longer do that without paying . I don't know if I can or have posted "originals " here ,but if so they're probably not showing .

.
Yeah Joe, but you left the two radio antenna sticking up in the grass....!![]()
Y'know, if Imagestation has some sort of limit on the number of views per image, that would explain why some folks can see 'em and other's can't.
I've certainly had problems viewing images in some of these threads, many of the bad links being at Imagestation. So if they are using cookies or something to track views, that would explain a lot!
For more permanent viewing, use your own webspace -- most of you have it but never use it. It comes with most ISP contracts/services, so call your ISP and get the ftp info, then start using it.
