I am attaching a photo of my sanded planking and solicit comments. Most of the planking is white oak with a few pine planks mixed in, and some are dinged (small chunks missing) and some are suffering from iron sickness from the iron nails. The planks are hard and appear to be in good shape with the exception of the above mentioned items. Take a look and make some general repair suggestions please. I have a shipwright in the yard I am in down here in the south, but I am afraid he has the shrimp and fishing boat mentalitly of quick fixes going on. My plan is to copper sheath the bottom, so a yacht finish is not required, I just want it to be sound. I know I have to refasten.![]()
