Most YouTube creators are mental, screwing up our reality and how we see ourselves
YouTubers have created a whole new genre of entertainment. These self-produced vloggers and videographers make money sharing their lives with others. There is a consistent lifecycle that most of these creators experience though – from happiness and energy to depression and self-evaluation.
It Starts with a Fake Persona
Most YouTubers are excited full of life when they get on the screen. They create a fake persona for themselves that is an augmented version of reality. On camera, they appear lively and energetic because that is what the audience off wants to see. In time though, that fake persona becomes a heavyweight to bear. What they must do to keep it going is very difficult both on a personal level and as a small business. It is these major influencers, folks who are affecting our whole society and world for that matter. It is messing with a perception of reality far from the actual world most folks live with. Profiting from sponsorships and telling the rest of us how we are lacking in every turn. As viewers we are seduced in watching semi pornographic images of sex and marketing materialism. Each video is a business message that makes it possible.
I am reminded that psychologists tell us that porn video aren't generally the kind of sex most of us get and have damaged the way we treat each other ; why would we think that YouTubers pimping, pumping out these influencing videos aren't warping our own society loaded with marketing and materialism?
