do people in movies always get in bed with their shoes on?

Even boots. Even when they just came in from a long walk in dirty streets. Even coming in from taking care of the livestock in the barn.

Even to cuddle and have sex.

Just yesterday we saw one where the couple sat in bed for a talk. Both with shoes on. At one point she draws up her legs and the sole of her boots is near the pillows.

What's with that?

And the weight of the shoe helps keep one foot on the floor which helps prevent the bed from spinning.

No matter where, if your shoes are on, you passed out. If you take your shoes off and “fall asleep” on the balcony, you’re off-limits. If you “fall asleep” in a four poster bed with your shoes on, you’re fair game.

I don’t know what party rules you learned, but those are the rules I was brought up with.

Seriously, just saw it again last night, and it was an Italian movie, so it is not just some weird Hollywood thing. Sober people getting on the bed with their shoes on.

We don't even come into the house with our shoes on. To me, getting on a bed with your shoes on it is as unnatural and unhygienic as taking a bath with your clothes on.
