    Default Complaints about acronyms.

Fox and their guest bloviators are bitchin' about 'The Alphabet Boys' like the FBI, ATF, TSA, IRS, LGBTQ+, etc., as terms used to denote 'dangerous organizations and groups'.

Yet they are hypocritically blind about their own abbreviations QAnon, NAZIs, WASPs, JAPs, WOPs, etc.

Today's Michigan GOP meme post about this is so historically inaccurate and easily investigated that it's laughable: https://www.haaretz.com/jewish/2023-...7-ddfe9e2a0000

"DO YOUR RESEARCH!!", they say. Yet hmmm: https://www.politifact.com/factcheck...y-did-not-hel/
For the most part experience is making the same mistakes over and over again, only with greater confidence.

We have a current TV ad running about pepperoni pepperoni pepperoni pizza, because it has three diff kinds of pepperoni. In said ad they repeat "pepperoni pepperoni pepperoni" ten or a dozen times. It gets tiresome fast. Methinks they need to use the acronym "ppp".

My wife once wrote and recorded a radio advert for a Northern Irish double-glazing company.

The brief? "Get 'Fairco McIlhagga' in the thirty seconds As Much As Possible."

    'Fair-Co-Mac-ill-Harger'

...in a Belfast accent, it sounds like swearing, at best.

I try not to complain about acronyms too much, because, you see - in the military , and later in the computer world, I had each time an 'Acronym-English / English-Acronym' dictionary - it resided in an inch-and-a-half loose-leaf binder, which generally bulged toward 2" thick. There ARE a lot of them out there. At the time I am referring to, it was customary to write out fully whatever the term was in text, then the acronym abbreviation in parentheses - thereafter, just the acronym in all capital letters was used. That rule must still be in some ignored, dusty old style manual somewhere.

My favorite military acronyms must be SNAFU and FUBAR!
