    Default INteresting conversation about 'woke'

Guy tried to define it. Looked it up and found it to mean something along the lines of being aware of racial discrimination and such.

Then he made a statement that people should stay in the body God gave them. I asked, "Why?". He went on about all the crimes gays and trans commit.

I wondered if he thought no crimes were committed by 'normal' folks.

But when stupid people vote, you know who they nominate? Other stupid people." -- James Carville on the plethora of low-quality GQP candidates in the mid-term election.

One couple at the table defined it as, "Being opposite of what I believe." I responded, "Then, to me, you're woke, no?" The one guy who looked it up found a definition that said something to the effect of being aware of and sympathetic to such things as racism.

I say, no it hasn't, but to give you the benefit of the doubt, can you define these new things?

Liberal. The Far right uses "woke" to mean anything liberal.

This woman devoted a whole chapter of her recent book to “woke” but listen to her define it:

It’s kind of like when someone is speaking about a group or class of people they don’t like, and they refer to them as “Those People”.

Others of their ilk will immediately know what they are talking about.
