I bet someone did a lot of work to save an old hull. Either that, or spent a lot of $$$ building a new hull to an old design. It's lovely.

Not a criticism, but I would be very interested in knowing how well she points.

Different Providence - though the boat is a beauty.

Lot for sale on Providence Island in Lake Champlain. Up for auction next month! No year 'round access, no power.

I wish. 6 months/year occupancy - will probably go for 300K-500K. Then the cost of getting materials there by boat.

But it'd be a cool place for someone with the $ Great views across the lake to the Adirondacks.

If the neighbor immediately northeast doesn't buy it then I just don't understand a damn thing about this world.

    LOL

    This boat is approved!
There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

Or the one SSW to get a more sheltered mooring/dock spot. The winds are primarily out of the south, but can be NE in a storm.

    C'mon. Get real
If you can afford that lot you can afford snow machines, hovercraft, hire a helo, etc.
Shoot, a dog team might be cool.

I dont mean the purchase price so much as the wherewithal that getting a gallon of milk there after the house is built will cost $200 bucks.

Wasn't the owner of Providence a poster here? Or was that Provident?

Used to be you could boat in the summer, ski/sled/drive in the winter with a month or so shoulder on each end. Not anymore. There was probably 6 weeks of safe ice this winter - so helicopter it'd have to be.

disappointed with the glulam beam over the galley.

that big of a job why not go a little more expense and find a nice oak beam to keep it real.

Because the boat lives in a place where Doug fir is easy to find, and big oak is hard? Although I would have avoided that big knot if I were in charge. I bet the ends of the original deck beam rotted out, and that was the most expedient way to fix it around here.
