I want to fabricate a replacement chip-catcher attachment (direct's planer chips into my dust collector) for my half-century old INCA jointer/planer. Have in mind basically to duplicate as best I can what the original item looks like, using some 1/4" and 1/8" thick polycarbonate sheet and a 12" piece of 1/8" wall thickness, 3" OD tube. I can reuse the original's steel spring clips to secure both sides to the planer's table.
If anyone reading this has used Gougeon's G/Flex epoxy to bond polycarbonate plastic together into an assembly of some sort I'd like to know whether / how well it worked. Their tech articles suggest simply sanding with 80-grit sufficient for strong bonding then a 24-hour cure interval.
