But as the design seems to be unknown I went from "what is it?" to "is it a good design?". And it is just now that I'm catching up with the thread and will focus on the condition of the hull. Thanks to everyone helping with tips on how to check that!
This is a similar, albeit smaller yacht

It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

    Very similar!
Could one expect my project was also built around that time, you think? Early 1900?

I was in your position, Dan, 12 years ago. Once the surveyor confirmed that the hull was fair and solid, I jumped at the price recognizing that the boat was going to be the maritime equivalent of a "free horse." I enjoyed almost every bit of the journey of the restoration, discovering all the things the surveyor missed and learning how to fix them. Now I know the boat better than anyone from her past and as a result of my considerable effort, she also has a future. In addition, you get at least 4 really nice clamps (shown in one of your early pictures)!

To me she looks like a nice boat. Likely not Colin Archer. However he did draw some little known pleasure boats which were fairly sleek. Norsk Sjöfartsmuseum has pretty much all his drawings in their archive.

The Danish designer Udzon is a name I come to think of........

Yes she has some resemblance to the Spidsgatter!

The thing that convinced me of taking her was her very cool bronze rudder that was tucked away. I´ll take pictures of it as it probably is the best clue to her heritage.

Would the 8'6" beam be an attempt to keep it "trailerable"? Appears weighty, but legal without permits, eh?

Could be. A closer look at her core (not the decking that was made later) makes me estimate her to the 1930-1940. Could trailer rules be a thing back then?

Was regular trailering a thing back then? What HP was the average family car?

Probably not. But she could have been some kind of working vessel for the coast guard or costums that wanted to move her around.
It does seem a bit far fetched though.

It could be a Pettersson, Riemer or Holm. You can search the archives for drawings that match. This one is 8.5 x 2.4m.

That sir, is 97% match. And it really shows from the other view with the rudder (that is nearly the same) and the cockpit that is 100% match.

The proportions does not add up if you scale it to 9,6 meters. I wonder if you would change both proportions and scale if you would use a design. I don´t know.

How did you use the search? Did you put in the dimensions?

I put "pettersson" in the search box for images/ritning. There was over 1500 images, i just pulled up the closest one i found first.

    Aric, get a life!

The boat has an odd deck, but the hull looks really well put together. If that is OK, then worthwhile the effort. If the deck let much rain down and effected the structure, then I would think again.
