    Fun on a budget!
All cars have to be road legal, taxed and insured, as they are driven on public roads between hills.
Road tyres, I think mud and snow are allowed. No chains, two wheel drive only. No fiddle brakes.
Not sure about limited slip diffs- or no diffs- probably not.

The V-Dubs and Dune Buggies seemed to do well.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

I have done exactly that sort of thing in my old bug.
We had a series of logging skid trails (miles of them) all through the Santa Cruz mountains that were a popular free for all with trials and motocross riders (of which I was one) Every once in a while I would take my old beetle and terrorize those same trails shocking the poop out of the bike riders!
This was back when a good dirt bike was a British 500 single, or maybe a Bultaco...
(Now there are houses dotted all through there. Neil Young took the best of it, and others followed)

I remember Jim Clark showing up at the Indy 500 with his little green car and going away with the trophy.

Jim, I had a 1979 Ford Fiesta Ghia , when we lived in the Chicago suburbs, my young daughter's cousin lived about 8 miles away (by road) or 3 miles away by shortcut, which included a steep hill of dirt excavated from the soon-to be basements of a new neighborhood.
It was a real blast taking the daughter to visit her cousin (over that hill / through some trees / etc / etc)

I took my old 54 Bug ( in '65) some places that Dr Porsche would have never anticipated possible.

at 1:54 in you have no 11 a 1400 cc Cannon

There are a couple more orangey red or red ones, but if you can read their Start no or Reg no you can find them in the list.
