    Default Finally some photos

I wrote here in mid October that I had finally launched and sailed my Ohio Sharpie. Would someone please send me the directions for posting photos on the Wooden Boat Web. I promise to print them out.

    1. First, store the photos on your computer. Resize them to around 1000 pixels length/width or less.

    2. Start a post in a thread. When you're ready to add a photo, put the cursor where you want the photo to go.

    3. Now hit the "Insert Image" button on the top menu bar of the post you are writing. (It looks like a picture of a tree, and the label "Insert Image" will appear if you hover over it without clicking.

    4. You'll get a dialogue box that opens. There are 2 option tabs: From Computer is the one you want to choose.

    5. Once you've chosen that, you'll see a "Choose File" button. Click it. You'll be able to browse through your computer, find the photo you want, and click it to highlight the photo.

    6. Click "Open" and the dialogue box ffrom #4 will open again. Just under the "Choose Photo" button are the words "Upload File(s)"--this doesn't look like a button, but once you click those words, your photo will appear (in a very small preview version) in the post you are writing.

    7. When you finish the post and post it to the forum, your photo should appear at full size.

It's pretty simple, but can be a bit glitchy at times (for example, sometimes the "From Computer" option comes up blank, and you have to keep trying until you get the "Choose Photo" button again). Adding fewer, smaller photos seems to work best, maybe 3 per post. Sometimes when you come back to a thread you'll find that your photos have all disappeared, leaving behind links to attachments instead. To cure that, you can edit the post (it will often look like your photos are still there), delete each photo that disappeared, and add them all over again.

Hope that helps--looking forward to seeing photos of your sharpie.

You can also go join imgur for free. drag and drop your pictures there and then copy and paste the conveniently supplied links to your posting here. You can post up to 6 pictures, full size.
It's quite easy especially if you keep a couple tabs open.

Depends on what platform / brand of computer/tablet/phone you use.

I can help with Apple stuff, not so much with Windows, Android or Chrome. Have to leave that for others to chime in.

I was actually having a hard time in resizing some photos and I'm just super glad that I stumbled upon this post. It really helped me a lot. I will definitely be bookmarking this link just in case I get confused about these things again. Thanks a lot.
