What happened to Sikaflex 290 DC Pro White? In a pickle!

All, my apologies as I am a first-time poster. I have been trying to locate Sikaflex 290 DC Pro in white but it appears to only be available now outside of the US. Several retailers/suppliers, such as Jamestown show it as having been “discontinued” by the manufacturer. Has anyone else looked into this by chance? My conundrum is I am looking for high-ish viscosity caulk that can be used to caulk exterior teak seams, where the seams can then be varnished over. Because the teak has a stain, I am planning to stain the teak prior to caulking, but only light sanding will seem to work using an ROS otherwise the tape will be disturbed and the underlying stain hindered. I tried 3M’s 4200 but the viscosity didn’t work well for me on certain vertical seams. And it doesn’t allow for a clean edge. I was thinking about using Boat-Life two-part caulk, but am at a loss as to how to proceed. Any insights would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance

I do not know the answer, but it might help others who might, to know more details of the boat/ construction.
Deck seams? Outside/inside joinery? Storage status of vessel / inside outside?

Wizbang, thank you. It’s actually not a boat, it is a restored Land Rover Defender (photos below). I am milling steps (like in photo below) as well as bed (see photo). I am a skilled carpenter but have never tackled the use of these marine caulks before. In that case , a white epoxy may be the ticket.
Is the really any need for the “planks” to swell and shrink ?

Bruce, it is a great question. We will have it near the coast up in New England, and while it will be garaged, it will be subject to varying temperatures and humidity. Plus, I do worry about the foot pressure on the steps causing some flex. Ideally the caulk/epoxy could be applied and smoothed over and then the tape immediately removed and the caulk/epoxy would not shrink or expand. Does that even exist?

GFlex Epoxy would probably work (it is designed to handle the flexing), but the suggestion of using TDS caulk probably makes more sense in this application.

Have you considered using holly splines instead of a filler. At least on the inside of the rover?

Thank you both! The issue with TDS is apparently you cannot varnish over it. I guess I could stain and varnish the wood, tape it off, and then apply TDS. Does TDS expand? Ideally I would not be sanding after applying the TDS. I’ll definitely look at the Gflex Epoxy as well. Really appreciate any guidance here as this “boat building” is new to me : )

Also allows for refinishing and given the dirty shoe/high traffic issue, easier to “clean” a fully varnished step. Thank you again!

If you do end up splining in some Holly, please share some pics showing how you do it. It's another thing I know nothing about!

If you are going to spline the teak with holly, for what it's worth, the holly splines are traditionally proud of the teak by an eighth of an inch or so, so as to provide a little traction.

A small detail, but one that makes a noticable difference in appearance.

The holly splines will work, but honestly, I'd go with the TDS. There is no need to varnish over it. The bare teak will be fine, and if you did varnish it, it would be extremely slippery when wet.
